## SAT PREP: Reading and Writing ONLY

with MATT CLEMENTS

**SAT TEST PREP FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS**

High school students will be taught about the format of the test and test taking strategies specific to that subject, by experts in their fields. Students will thoroughly review and practice within the subject area, focus on individual challenges, as well as on aspects that have traditionally given students difficulties. Frequent assessments will provide each student with individual feedback. Up to one hour homework per meeting, including a practice section will be assigned at each meeting.

**SAT PREP: EVIDENCE-BASED READING AND WRITING**

This course will cover all aspects of SAT Reading and Writing sections, including sentence completion, passage-based reading, vocabulary-in-context, literal comprehension, and extended reasoning questions. *Instructor Clements earned his English degree from Brown University with a master’s degree in education from U Mass. He has taught at Cape Elizabeth High since 2004 and worked for the College Board since 2005 correcting SAT timed essays.*

## SAT PREP: Accelerated Math ONLY

with CHRIS HAYWARD

**SAT TEST PREP FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS **High school students will be taught about the format of the test and test taking strategies specific to that subject, by experts in their fields. Students will thoroughly review and practice within the subject area, focus on individual challenges, as well as on aspects that have traditionally given students difficulties. **SAT PREP: ACCELERATED MATH** is for advanced math students who are looking to score 600+. This course will be accelerated, hitting on all topics covered in Get Me Ready Math. Lessons will also be including advanced concepts such as the unit circles, trig properties, conditional probability and elementary conics (circles and parabolas). *Instructor Hayward has taught SAT prep classes since 1998, teaches high school math through AP Calculus currently at Scarborough High. He earned his Mathematics degree from the University of Maine and Master's degree in Secondary Teaching of Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire.* Four Tues., 03/12 to 04/02/2019, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Room A104

**SAT PREP: BONUS LAB FOR STUDENTS ATTENDING EITHER MATH:** An extra bonus night is being offered to all MATH SAT PREP students, from either math group. This will be a lab where students can come work independently, work together, and/or get extra help from Mr. Hayward. Students can come for any part or all of the time. ## SAT PREP: BOTH Math and Read/Write

**SAT TEST PREP FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS**

**SAT PREP: GET ME READY MATH** is for students who need a brush up and test taking strategies to attain optimal success on their SAT Math test. This class will review solving and interpreting linear equations, systems and quadratics. We’ll also talk about how to recognize and work with exponential function, function notation and composite functions. Test taking tips and calculator strategies will also be addressed. *Instructor Hayward has taught SAT prep classes since 1998, teaches high school math through AP Calculus currently at Scarborough High.
