Celebrate Earth Day: Easy and Engaging Climate Solutions for All!
with Charles Spanger
New! Though the US withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement, many Americans and companies strive to uphold climate commitments, educate others, and innovate solutions. Our children have become leaders, studying impacts and implementing solutions in school. 72% of Americans agree with climate scientists that global warming is happening, and 62% worry a great deal about climate change. Time to shed the worry, transform it into inspired engagement. This workshop for those who have accepted the science, and wish to explore taking personal and/or community action. Review simple, effective actions you and your family can take, with many new ideas that may surprise you. Learn which yield the greatest impact. Overview innovative initiatives and organizations leading the charge in Maine. Whether you’re a busy person hoping to make a small change, you install a solar panel, join a grassroots group or town committee – no effort’s too small! Charles is co-convener of Sierra’s Scarborough Climate Action Team, is affiliated with 350 Maine and Maine CCL, and offers this as a free community service. He welcomes audience guest Ryan O’Leary, student president of Scarborough High’s environmental club, ECOS, and co-founder of MYEA, the Maine Youth Environmental Association.
