ReWilding: Wildlife Friendly Back Yards

with Linda Woodard

Class is canceled

A popular class! Learn ways to transform your backyard to sustain wildlife by using native plants, water elements, habitat restoration, and food sources. Consider ways to transition part of your lawn to attract and accommodate birds, bats, frogs, bees, butterflies, and many other beneficial creatures and pollinators. Studies have shown that even a modest increase in the native plant cover on suburban properties greatly increases the diversity of insects, birds, and other animals. Native plants feed native bird species either directly with fruits and seeds, or indirectly by supporting native insects birds can eat.  Grab your neighbor, amplify your impact and create essential wildlife corridors in your neighborhood. Linda has been the Director of Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center for 27 years; she also leads workshops and activities for children and adults on “Bringing Nature Home”; she’s excited to share her passion with you!
