Our college transition program offers Math classes to prepare students to take the ACCUPLACER which determines readiness for College Level Algebra. The class is designed to help you with the skills you need to (a) earn an acceptable score on the number skills and elementary algebra Accuplacer and (b) help you succeed in your College Algebra class.

Our funding is dependent upon having the correct information in our files and the purpose of intake is to gather as much pertinent information as we can about your educational goals so that we can assist you in reaching those goals. In this interactive class, you’ll determine your body type and face shape and learn tips for choosing the most flattering clothing styles and necklines for your features. Bring your phone to take pictures and a pen and paper for notes. Candace is owner of Radiant Image, and has 30 years of branding and marketing experience working with a variety of organizations throughout northern New England. Her mission is to boost women’s self-confidence by helping them feel great about their appearance and their ability to connect effectively with others.

Maine Healthy Lawn Care Made Simple

What defines the “perfect Maine lawn”? One that’s lush and green, safe for families, pets, and the environment, plus saves you time and money! Learn to create a more resilient, beautiful lawn without relying on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. We’ll provide strategies for fertilizing correctly, controlling weeds and thatch, renovating poor lawns, transitioning to organic care, and more. Whether you maintain your lawn or hire a professional, round up your neighbors and join! This program compatible with the Town of Scarborough’s organic pest management policy for school and town properties, as well as the City of Portland’s and City of South Portland’s pesticide ordinances. Ali implements community education and outreach programs for Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District, holds degrees in environmental studies and marine science, and offers this through CCSWCD as a free community service.

Further develop your guitar playing skills and improve your understanding of the guitar fret board. We’ll also play blues progressions and rhythms, touch on simple music theory, and begin to improvise and express your unique creativity. Acoustic guitar, capo, and pick required; electronic tuner highly recommended. Open to adults and 16 yrs+. 

Ian has played guitar for over 25 years and has taught group and private lessons for over six years; excellent student evals here at the Scarborough Adult Learning Center keep students coming back for more!

Hidden cameras reveal much! Join Professor Perlut as he shares fascinating remote video of nightlife and wildlife activity taken along a 1.6 mile portion of Scarborough‘s Eastern Trail. This is part of UNE’s multi-year “Gap Tracks Study” focusing on a part of the trail scheduled to be connected. Excellent opportunity for families to witness real-time footage of wildlife in their natural habitat and learn how environmental factors influence animal behavior. An engaging presentation not to be missed, presented as one in a series of lectures by The Friends of Scarborough Marsh; see scarboroughmarsh.org
