College for a Day: Special Event
Thinking about college, but not sure college is right for you? This is your opportunity to find out! We’ll visit Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) campus, listen to people from important departments like Admissions (how do I sign up for classes?), Financial Aid (how much is all of this going to cost me?), and Student Life (what can I really expect at college?). After the program we will have a great buffet lunch in the Dining Hall. This will be a great experience - so take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to give college a try!
Math for College

If you are looking to get your skills up to par for entry into college then we can help. This class will cover from basic numerical skills to deciphering Algebra. We will cover formulas, equations, polynomials and graphing while focusing on real world applications. You will finish prepared for a college level Algebra class. The Accuplacer (college placement exam) is given at the end of the semester.

College entrance requirements for SMCC include taking Sentence Skills and Reading Tests on Accuplacer. Go beyond grammar and develop written communication skills while developing critical thinking and writing skills. Be prepared for the Accuplacer and/or college level English Composition with this 10-week class.
