Odysseyware Web-based Learning

Scarborough Adult Education offers an opportunity for adult high school diploma students to earn missing credits through our web-based Odysseyware program. You may earn credits in a variety of subject areas by doing the required work on your home computer under the direction of an instructor/facilitator. You must meet with the academic coordinator for an Intake Session in order to embark on this program.

SAT Test Prep: Accelerated Math

$150

with Instructor Hayward

Calendar Mar 13, 2018 at 6 pm, runs for 4 weeks

High school students will be taught about the format of the test and test taking strategies specific to that subject, by experts in their fields. Students will thoroughly review and practice within the subject area, focus on individual challenges, as well as on aspects that have traditionally given students difficulties. Frequent assessments provide each student with individual feedback. Up to one hour homework per meeting, including a practice section, will be assigned at each meeting.

Tuition: $150 for one subject, tuition includes all materials.

ACCELERATED MATH is for advanced math students who are looking to score 600+.  This course will be accelerated, hitting on all topics covered in Get Me Ready Math. Lessons will also be including advanced concepts such as the unit circles, trig properties, conditional probability and elementary conics (circles and parabolas).

Instructor Hayward has taught SAT prep classes since 1998, teaches high school math through AP Calculus currently at Scarborough High. He earned his Mathematics degree from the University of Maine and Master’s degree in Secondary Teaching of Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire.

SAT Test Prep: BOTH a math and the evidence-based read/write

Save $25 by registering here for BOTH the Evidence-based Reading and Writing, as well as a choice of one of the maths: either the Accelerated, or Get-Me-Raedy Math class.

Study Skills: for Middle Schoolers through Adult Learners

New! It’s easy to say, “Study for that test!”  But do you know how to study? Whether you are going back to school or you have a child in school, you or your child will have a better chance of succeeding in high school and college if certain skills can be mastered now. This class will offer parents and adult learners tools and tips on how you can help your child, or yourself get organized and learn to study effectively. Valerie Deveraux is an attorney and Academic Life Coach who is passionate about helping students succeed in high school and beyond.
