Scottish Country Dancing
with Anne Johnson
Beginners/Experienced
Get ready to Jig and Reel your way into the world of Scottish Country Dancing (SCD). Maybe you have already experienced some traditional Scottish dances at a wedding or a ceilidh...if you have, you’ll know the feeling of exhilaration when dancing to upbeat, traditional Scottish music. If you are completely new to SCD don’t be afraid! You don’t have to wear tartan or a kilt (though you can if you like); you don’t need special footwear (comfortable flat shoes are fine); and you don’t have to bring a partner (Scottish Country Dance involves dancing with different partners). So, why not give it a try? Whatever your age or ability, you will soon feel part of the Scottish Country Dancing community.
Anne Johnson brings 18+years dancing as a member of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and is a certified Instructor of SCD through the RSCDS.
